not much action today. got a chance to sleep late, ate some leftover pasta for lunch, then took a bunch of cold medication. 60 degrees might be a bit chilly for a long-distance motorcycle ride but perfect for running. the first run after a brief hiatus (my last run was exactly a week ago) usually goes pretty well; i have a lot of energy reserve and i'm also excited to get back out there pounding the pavement. i realized i was probably running a bit fast that's why i kept on stopping to rest, so this time around i slowed it down a little bit, only picking up the speed whenever i needed to impress an approaching pedestrian. i did pretty well, and thought i'd even finish my 3 mile loop without stopping for the very first time since i began running again. as soon as i started thinking that though, i cramped up on my left side (near the eliot bridge) and had to walk off the pain before i could finish the circuit.

i spent some time researching a laptop for my father. he wants something cheap to do some light web surfing and maybe watch some movies (streaming/dvd). $400 seems to be the cheapest price you can find for a laptop, but they're all celeron processors. anything more substantial like a duo core adds another $100 to the price tag. and even then, still with on-board integrated graphic card, so definitely no graphic intensive games. i'd prefer my father get a macbook, but the least expensive model still costs close to a grand and even the refurbished are just a few hundred less.

i made way too much pasta last night and had some more for dinner. snap peas do not taste very good after they've been microwaved (lose their snaps). i managed to spice things up with some hot sauce. the sad thing is i'm still not done, and i'm going to be having some more pasta for lunch tomorrow.
