2008

i went to eliza's new year's day birthday brunch this afternoon. instead of at her place in JP, this time around it was at her boyfriend's apartment in union square, in the renovated church on bow street, with fewer people than in past years. i'd been in that place before, for another party a few years back (laura from thailand). it was close enough that i could easily walk there; along the way i stopped by market basket to buy some cantaloupes. the parking lot was only half full, something i rarely see at this normally packed to capacity supermarket. the heavy rain earlier had changed into big chunks of snowflakes by that point. eliza and romain had just returned from spending the holidays in france. hoping to get some photos on my way back home, it was already dark by the time i left but it'd stopped raining.

i got home by 5pm and took down my christmas lights. i spent the rest of the day watching the monk marathon on the USA network. for dinner i had some leftover KFC wings. watching tv in bed, i was asleep by 8pm but woke up a few hours later to continue the night shift of my daily schedule.
