i'm switching over to lightbox2 by lokesh dhakar in order to display my photos. i've seen this image overlay effect in some other websites, but i always thought it was some sort some of fancy flash magic. so imagine my surprise when i discovered it was all done through normal javascript and stylesheet, and simple to implement. hopefully this will allow people to more easily browse through my photos. clicking on the edge of the photo will advance to the next image, as well as simply using the arrow keys. with this upgrade, horizontal photos will get a slight size increase, from 720x480px to 900x600px. vertical images will still stay the same at 480x720px. let me know how you like the new interface. i'm especially curious about if everyone can see the photos, whether or not they might be too big. i apologize that i don't have some more interesting sample pictures.
not much happened today. i went with my mother and aunt to market basket in the early evening, which was totally insane. traffic jams outside as we tried to find parking, total shopping cart congestion in the already narrow aisles, and crazy lines inside when we went to pay.
that reminds me: it's already 1am and i haven't started making my flan yet. it's going to be a long night.
update: it's 3am and i'm still waiting for the flan to finish baking. zhu lei actually helped me with the preparations before going to bed. that was well over an hour ago. in the meantime, while i'm waiting, i managed to update the topbar of this website so it's constantly fixed (i've been meaning to do that for the longest time).
