nothing much to report today. had an unexpected conference call with the client this morning, got my new work assignment. i left the house briefly to say hello to suhan's mother who arrived in boston last night, had lunch at the cafe, then came back home. i coded until 7pm, then helped zhu lei make dinner. he was cooking some raviolis, i suggested he eat them with some pasta sauce. as for me, i just had some hot dogs. in our conversations, he wanted to know how to deposit a work check, and was curious about getting a driver's license. in china, it's an expensive and time-consuming process (several months of mandatory driver's ed), but if he got his license here in the US, he could return home and easily convert it to a chinese license. he also wanted to know how to get a residency ID, in case he ever wanted to visit a bar or buy something from the liquor store.

later in the evening i bought an 0.6 neutral density filter for my camera (yesterday i some more memory for my macbook pro). you know, if ever wanted to take blurry waterfall photos or maybe even for the coming winter, so snowscapes don't get overexposed.

i think if i don't have anything to do tomorrow, i might get back into running again. i haven't ran in months, i'm afraid my bones will shatter from the shock. but that's part of the fun!

it's weird, but even though i pretty much stopped watching any late-night talk shows now that everything is in reruns because of the writers' strike, i still find myself going to bed around 2-3am every night.
