today we started the painting offensive. it took a while though: my father ran off to run errands early in the morning. i went to home depot to get some more blue tape and then i was busy with some light sanding and sponge-cleaning the walls. when my father returned around noon he brought back a more efficient wide mop.

we didn't actually start painting until 1pm and didn't finish until almost 4 hours later, only completing my parents' bedroom before we ran out of primer. despite our prep work, the ceiling was in a rougher shape than we realized, with flakes of old paint stripping off onto the roller and many visible areas of bubbling. we may have to resurface the ceiling, or just live with the imperfections - knowing that in a few more years it'll start peeling again and will need to be repainted. while my father left for work, i finally ate the sandwich he brought me from the cafe before returning to cambridge.

the new fall television season is in full swing! here's how i planned out my monday night: 8pm how i met your mother (CBS), 8:30pm the big bang theory (CBS), 9pm heroes (NBC), 10pm the war (PBS). i'll be honest, the only reason why i watch heroes is because of all the hype surrounding the series. i'm not even that big a fan. i wish chuck (NBC) was on at 9pm instead of 8pm, because i really love that show (i already saw the preair premiere episodes a few months ago). i may just end up downloading episodes of chuck from the internet (like i do with my monday night weeds and californication episodes because i don't have showtime).

i had a crazy dinner tonight. after chiding bruce this weekend for having a spinach omelette for dinner (it's breakfast food!), i had a dinner omelette of my own. ingredients: 2 eggs, fresh basil, scallions, mexican cheese, onions, and ham. i also had a plate of salad (italian dressing) and for dessert i finished my rum raisin ice cream then ate a plate of sliced tomatoes sprinkled with spice powder.
