2007

besides noise, a full bladder can also abruptly cut short a good night's worth of sleep. such was the case this morning. no, i didn't wet my bed, but as soon as i got up to go to the bathroom, i couldn't fall back asleep anymore. so i decided to start my sunday: fed my fish, fired up the computer, and watched television in bed. i had nothing planned for the day. i thought about going out naturing again, or catching a movie, but neither was better than just chilling out at home doing nothing all day.

at 6pm i was having dinner with my family at mulan on broadway street near kendall square. i've been there at two other times (2005, 2006). my great uncle was treating (in honor of my grandmother's visit) and besides my family, suhan and jawen were there as well. mulan advertises itself as a taiwanese restaurant but the food is surprisingly devoid of taiwanese flavors and favorites. (for authentic taiwanese, visit the taiwan cafe in chinatown). it's a nice place and it was pretty busy (and mostly chinese customers too, always a good sign) but the general consensus (at least for our party) was the dishes were all too bland.

it was just 7pm by the time i returned home. since i stay up late, the problem with eating early is i end up getting hungry as the night goes on, and sure enough, a few hours later, i started thinking about dinner again, completely forgetting that i'd already ate a big meal.

i watched the 2-hour premiere of kill point on spike starring john leguizamo and donnie wahlberg. it's reminiscent of dog day afternoon (1975) but with modern twists and turns (for one thing, nobody had a blackberry in the 70's). it's definitely worth watching if you're looking for something good on sunday nights.
