i slept for a good 10 hours last night, but not without some difficulty. i must've pulled a shoulder blade muscle a few days ago and pain would shoot down my back whenever i twisted or turned in bed. later i sprayed on some yunnan baiyao i got while i was in kunming, and that seemed to have alleviated the pain to a manageable amount.

by the time i finally woke up i figured i'd have an easy day of work, but client S contacted me with a last minute crisis: the program i tweaked was repeatedly crashing. it didn't seem to be code related but eventually we figured it was an outdated xtra issue. hours later i got another message saying that the program continued to crash. by evening the real culprit was identified: buggy protected files. once i created new ones from my computer, the application stopped crashing.

sometime in the afternoon i went to the wine & cheese cask on the corner of beacon and washington street to get a bottle of red wine for jerica's tahine dinner tomorrow night as well as deposit a $50 fuji rebate check. it was drizzling slightly, and even though i had my camera with me, there was nothing photoworthy to photograph. i had the leftover tikka masala for lunch then ate some leftover fried chicken for dinner.

an tao came home from work around 11pm. "it didn't snow!" he exclaimed, after i told him about the blizzard we'd be having today. apparently that's not until tomorrow. while he was eating a late dinner, we watched some basketball and saw a haier commercial. although not a common brand here in the US, haier is the world's third largest manufacturer of kitchen appliances and other household devices. they're significant because it's actually a chinese brand (when was the last time you bought a chinese name brand product?) and naturally very well known back in china.
