i can sleep through the morning light shining on my eyelids. as long as it's quiet, i can pretty much sleep through anything. no more sleeping until noon though, i woke up at 10am to start my day. if yesterday was lowkey, today was even more so. tragedy finally struck: i saw the lifeless body of my sick female guppy floating at the bottom of the hospital bucket. i spent the rest of the day cleaning the house, vacuuming the living room and disinfecting the bathroom.

my hands still smelled like bleach by the time i went with my father to costco to pick up some supplies (client N called me while i was out, i answered a bunch of questions). afterwards i paid a quick visit to the nearby petsmart. i was looking for aquatic plants but none of them caught my eyes. i checked out some more guppies and i was tempted to buy a few females (cheap, $1.50 each) to balance the stock but the current ones i have are all purebred red cobra guppies and i didn't want to stir the gene pool just yet. besides, if all goes well (or wrong, depending on how you see it), i will have (at least) 18 more adult guppies in a few more months.

in the early evening i started making some dinner since i hadn't really eaten anything all day. i whipped up an old favorite, linguini with clam sauce (extra spicy). later i finished reading batman year 100 and watched the new season of america next top model. i'm rooting for the plus-sized girl but i know she probably won't win.

i ordered some vacuum bags online tonight. the vacuum i currently use is the same one i've had since college: the eureka mighty mite ii. that was 15 years ago and unfortunately you can't just go into a store and find these bags anymore, they have to be specially ordered. the current bag i have now, it wasn't even designed for my vacuum, i basically retrofitted a different bag into the canister to make it work. at this point it must be so full (the last time i replaced it was maybe a year or two ago) that i'm afraid to check.
