empty community garden (sacramento street)

sunday. i couldn't wait to wake up. maybe it was that 3 hour nap i took early last night, but this morning i just couldn't sleep anymore. a check of my guppies showed that one female still looking sick, resting at the bottom of the tank, a trail of clear, slimy waste trailing from her vent. it could be an internal bacterial infection, but i think the problem is a little bit worse, since she's also missing her ventral fins. i'm not sure what to do, right now i'm hoping it'll clear up on its own; even if i medicate the supposed bacterial infection, it still regrow her missing ventral fins. as for the two males, the larger of the two seemed to be the more dominant fish and chases the other one whenever possible. i kind of wish i never bought these guppies, they seem to be more trouble than their worth. they're territorial, aggressive, sickly, prolific, infanticidal - nothing like the tetras, who are peaceful, enjoy the low pH of a carbon dioxide infused tank, and won't eat up my plants like the guppies.

i went out to add $200 to my bank account, hoping to keep my account above the minimum so i wouldn't get penalized. i'm waiting for checks from two different clients; if i don't see them by tomorrow, i'll have to figure out some other way to get money into my account to pay for the eventuality of next month's bills.

in the evening i had dinner with my family at my aunt and uncle's place in arlington. i watched a little bit of the academy awards coverage on their HDTV (crystal clarity is not so flattering for hollywood stars i'm quickly realizing). afterwards i got a ride back to cambridge, where i watched the rest of the ceremony with an tao.
