today i finally got to caulking. actually, removing the old mildewy caulk from the bathtub before putting down a new strip. maybe it was all that working in a confined space or perhaps it was the toxic molds but i started to get really light-headed for some reason and had to go lie down in bed. i managed to strip away most of the old caulk but i'll have to wait until tomorrow put lay down the new stuff. then i'll have to wait about a day for the caulk to dry, which means no showers, which is going to be tough because you know how much i love to get cleaned.
in the late afternoon i went back to belmont and put away my motorcycle for the winter. yesterday i was talking about riding into december, but right now everytime i go out it's more and more an endurance test than something i look forward to. i really didn't have many more days left anyway, it's not like we're going to get any warm weather anytime soon.
i went to go pick up my parents from the airport at the start of the evening. conveniently, this was also peak rush hour with just two days before thanksgiving so i sat in traffic for about 40 minutes. to make it even more interesting, i was driving my sister's big SUV, with all sorts of blind spots i'm not normally used to when riding on a motorcycle. the flight was delayed by an hour and when my parents finally arrived it seemed like they came back with more luggage than they left with. back in belmont, it was time to divyy up the loot, like welcoming back long-distance traders returning with all sorts of goodies. i ate some rice porridge with my family before getting a ride back to cambridge with bags of food and t-shirts and books and other souvenirs.
finally, is anyone else as turned on as i am to the new apple ipod shuffle commercial? it makes me almost want to spend $80 on a random mp3 player!
