my parents are leaving for a 2 week trip to taiwan and cambodia tomorrow morning. their plane leaves the exact same time i have my audit appointment. i thought i'd be going to belmont for one last dinner tonight but they were busy so i just heated up a frozen pizza in the toaster oven. my father dropped by briefly, i gave him some earplugs for the long plane ride.
oh patriots! i waited all week for tonight's showdown. i honestly didn't think they'd lose. the game was down to the wire, with former patriots kicker vinatieri at the 36 yard line within seconds of closing the game for new england but then he botched his kick! that was the perfect scenario, because you didn't want adam to beat you (anybody but him), and he probably didn't want to be the guy kicking the closing field goal anyway. with less than 2 minutes to go, all the patriots had to do was to get to the end zone for a tie then overtime. but then the interception! i screamed so loud i didn't care if i woke the neighbors. that's when i turned off the tv in disgusted disbelief. at least we didn't get blown out and the pats definitely stayed competitive, all the way to the end. you don't win games with 5 turnovers (that was the official last count, right?). they never once led but i was hoping for a glorious come-from-behind finish. the colts were pretty solid, seems like almost every single throw manning threw he'd always find a receiver; they had football seem so easy. i feel bad for the jets next sunday. new england is going to be mad and trying to make a point and just too bad the jets are their next opponent.
