this time last year i was in yangon, the capital city of burma (myanmar). of all the places i visited in southeast asia, burma stands out in my mind as the most beautiful and exotic and only by luck did i manage to schedule it as the last stop on my trip. the first night i was there i visited the schwedagon pagoda. i waited for sunset and what i saw was breathtaking.

buddha statues big and small can be found all over the compound. this particular buddha came with a rope that when you pulled it, it'd gently fan the buddha's face.

it's been raining non-stop for 7 days now. it's pretty miserable and to top it all off, i slept on my back wrong last night so now my body is aching all over, can hardly raise my head without feeling some pain. it wasn't a very good sleep anyway, i jumped out of bed early this morning to doublecheck that my bike wasn't getting towed because of street cleaning even though i knew it was parked on the safe side of the street. i then woke up again an hour later to start working, got a deadline tomorrow morning. put in my 8 hours, eat some dinner, then put in another 8 hours - it's going to be a long night and i'm not looking forward to it. i've been feeling this malaise for the past few days and i've been trying to counteract this feeling of unwellness by eating healthier: cut down on the sodas, lay off the junk food, and try to eat more vegetables. after soaking in the bath i had soup from a can for dinner as well as some broccoli with cheese sauce.
