there's no denying it: the days seem to be going by awfully fast. september is almost over! 3 more months before another new year. is it too soon to reflect back on 2005 and think of the things i did and didn't do?

today was a real DIY sort of day. i made spaghetti and meatballs for dinner (shared it with my exchange student) then when i was throwing out the trash i saw an UPS package waiting for me on my doorstep: my 250gb internal hard drive ($70 after rebates) had finally arrived! i installed it into my mac without any problems, formatted it, then threw a bunch of data onto the new drive. i was sort of worried because the screwdriver i was using had a magnetic tip, but the machine was able to start up just fine. i'm now sitting on 560gb worth of storage space; the thought of having a terabyte of storage isn't so farfetched now (nerd talk!). i did manage to scrape my knuckles without realizing it, just another addition to my growing collection of scratches and other minor injuries.

i was productive for most of the day, juggling code work between two clients. actually a lot of production work, exporting graphics from illustrator into flash for import into director. the loud noise outside my house was the cambridge road crew sweeping the street and pruning some of the trees (they left behind piles of sawdust after grinding down the branches). occasionally i could hear my unemployed neighbor upstairs walking around his house. the day was unusually humid. i vacuumed when i needed a break from working.

i hate to talk about the red sox for those readers who care nothing of baseball, but they put on an offensive showcase tonight, defeating the devil rays 15-2. it seemed at one point that every single red sox player was either getting a base hit or jacking a homerun. i just hope they can save some of that offense for tomorrow; unfortunately the yankees won as well, they're still just half a game behind us.
