in between bouts of code work this morning i was also cooking, making some lasagna. partly because of the heat, i cooked topless, being careful not to splatter myself with anything hot. i left the house briefly to get a baking pan from my mother, then to go across the street and get some lasagna noodles. i wanted to go running, but after all that walking this past weekend, i think i tweaked the tendons of my right foot and felt some pain. i tried to leave the AC off as long as possible, to conserve electricity, but it was too hot and i finally had to turn on the cold air, which remained on for the rest of the day. in the late evening alex, jack, and jack's girlfriend's cousin showed up at my place for a southeast asia slideshow. we only got through japan and taiwan (abbreviated versions at that) before they had to leave. early tomorrow morning i'll be up again to watch the shuttle landing.
