the rain kept me a prisoner in the house. it wasn't even some gentle rain, it was hard and loud, the sky became dark, the day became night. a toaster oven pizza for lunch and spent the day researching css and figuring out some way to upgrade my site to xhtml compliance. a rainy day is a good day to buy something online, and i went in on a deal with julie to get some new batteries for our digital cameras. the collection of batteries i have now, i know some of them are bad, just don't know which ones (until i test them by putting them to use). i also spent the day worried about my water pipes: since i've been back, the pipes that travel inside the wall of my living room to my upstairs neighbor have been making some really awful sounds, like they're going to burst. this problem sounds familiar, i wonder if he's had it before, i'm going to check the basement tomorrow before letting him know about the situation. the city of cambridge sent a dredging truck to my street to dig out one of the blocked sewers. even though they pulled up buckets of leaf debris, there still remained a small lake after they left. once the rain calmed to a drizzle, i got dressed and went out for a run. although it was still raining and the temperature was at 70 degrees, i still felt hot enough that i left my t-shirt on a rock. in the evening my mother came by with some dinner. we watched some SVU before she left, leaving me with the final few episodes of the battlestar galactica marathon on the scifi channel.
