the final day of my 3 day mini-project took me to norwood, south of boston. i decided i could go by motorcycle after i plotted out a route on the maps that didn't involve going on the highway. i'd cut through cambridge, jamaica plain, roslindale, west roxbury, dedham, and finally to norwood. i set out at 8am, perfectly aware that i'd be getting lost and wouldn't possibly make it to norwood by 9am. and lost i got, stopping to check the maps in fenway, in rosdinale center, and a few other spots along the way. eventually i made it after riding for an hour and 40 minutes. i met liz, who gave me a quick tour of the place before we got down to business. i was given an empty office with a pc that had the latest version of director and got to work. i didn't think it'd take the whole day and figured i might be able to go home before the rush hour traffic, but i ended up staying 8 hours. i did get free lunch however, one of the perks of working there since it's so far away from any food places. the cafeteria felt like high school in that you could see the different cliques from where people sat, programmers one table, designers one table, etc. i sat with the project managers, talking about weekend plans. close to 6pm i finally left. the return trip was faster (since i didn't get lost), and it took me just under an hour to go to belmont, where i had dinner (dumplings) with my parents before returning to cambridge.
