my ultimate flea trap arrived this morning, a little too late since the exterminator already paid me a visit on saturday. what i thought to be about the size and shape of a smoke detector was actually a little bigger, about the diameter of a medium pie plate. i set it up and left it plugged in before i went out. when i came back home, i was disappointed to see that i wasn't able to catch any fleas. it's a no-win situation: i'll be unhappy if there aren't any fleas because i can't see the trap in action, but i'll be just as unhappy if there are fleas because it means the spraying didn't work. if i had to choose though, i rather not have any fleas, which apparently looked to be the case.
after a brief bout of diablo (waiting for my food to digest), i went out for a run. i swung by the harvard square post office first to drop off a netflix dvd (beating the 5pm pickup time, hoping it'll arrive in worcester by tomorrow) before taking my usual circuit around the charles river. i checked the trap when i got back home, empty still. the flea trap actually looks kind of pretty, like a floor lantern, except it catches fleas. after a shower, some more diablo, before heating up some chicken wings for dinner in front of the television for monday night football. patriots naturally beat the chiefs.
