i'm running on 3 hours of sleep, went to bed close to 5am last night, woke up at 8am this morning to go to work. rob finally moved in this morning, while i was in the office. i was hoping i'd get the work done early and still have enough time to visit walden pond on this beautiful day, but debugging kept me at SRM for the whole day. i went out with a bunch of office folks to the marriott hotel food court. there was nothing there i really wanted to eat, and all i could think about was steak tips sandwiches, but i settled for a serving of chicken fingers, three fried strips for $4 served with a barbecue sauce that i dropped on our way back to the office.

by the end of the day i was feeling pretty good about what i accomplished today, felt like i played a key part in the success of the project, that the fixes i made were substantial. before i left for the day, i saw christine jorge, here at the office being debriefed about a potential project. she seemed pregnant but i didn't want to say anything for fear of being wrong.

when i got home, i saw all the things rob had moved in, which wasn't a whole lot. about an hour later he came home, dressed in his office clothes, returning with a dinner burrito in his hand. when i met rob many years ago, not in my wildest dreams would i think that one day he and i would be roommates. whle rob finished off his burrito, i made some ramen for dinner. he set up his macintosh in the bedroom, having to remove the base of his large monitor in order to make it fit the computer table. he surprised me with his recent cellphone purchase, all colors with a built-in camera. we watched the red sox game (sox beat the angels again), before i tagged along with him to jamaica plain, where he was returning his keys and retrieving his chairs and his bike. eliza was home, and she returned my memory card, as well as letting me borrow her "life of pi" novel and a book on western trees. we moved everything into the station wagon and returned to cambridge.

we got home just in time to catch dick cheney's speech to the republican national convention, followed by the daily show.
