after work today julie and i rode our bikes into boston. although i do a lot of running, this was my first time this year that i've been on a bicycle and it really wore me out, exercising unfamiliar muscle groups. i even accidently waved to a passing motorcyclist out of habit, he waved back, confused. julie had brought her camera this time to get a few snapshots of her own. she had figured out a few hot spots, starting with the boston common where we caught the end of the black tea party, then through downtown crossing, the financial district, faneuil hall (saw another live taping of hardball), down to the wharf by the aquarium, then all the way out to copley square, before taking the charles river bike trail to harvard square where we grabbed some dinner (brother jimmy's bbq, i like the dry rub ribs) followed by some bubble ice tea (crowded, expensive, although there's no better boba place in harvard square). we came back to my place just in time to let in my former roommate mike, here in town for 2 days to take his bar exam, and staying at my place. julie and i watched the DNC coverage (barack obama may one day be the president and teresa heinz kerry easily runs circles around laura bush with her mastery of 5 languages), followed by the daily show and nightline before she left. my ass was sore from the bike ride, i need to get a better seat.
