i woke up this morning to get my tax on. some of you might be responsible americans and did your taxes weeks and months ago. i am not like you in that regard because i wait until the last minute to do my taxes. the deadline is this thursday and i've waited until this last weekend to do them. i kind of had a feeling that i'd pay, so i wasn't in any particular hurry to get them done. people who do them early usually are the lucky ones who are getting money back, so there's a monetary incentive for them. so i didn't have any lunch (other than half a bag of potato chips), i just locked myself in my bedroom with sweet turbotax deluxe and the baseball game. after i was all done, i figured out i owe the government about $3000. how did this happen? up to midsummer i was still on unemployment and the few freelance gigs i got throughout the year, i never paid taxes on them. i actually escaped paying more, my original numbers were $4000 owed, but thanks to sweet mortgage interest paid, i deducted that down to the amount i have now. all i have left to do is to buy some ink for my printer so i can print out the forms and send them to the IRS.

i hope the administration puts this money to good use. i don't feel so bad paying all this hard earned cash when i know it will be used to kill enemies of the united states and to spread sweet democracy and freedom throughout the world. maybe one day i won't have to pay taxes when america has enslaved everyone. maybe some iraqi or afghanistani would like to pay my taxes for me. how soon will this dream be realized?

alex wong dropped by briefly to deliver some more stuff: a big of ethernet cables, a milk crate of printing paper, a yoga mat, dry erase boards, sony vcr, a tripod, some unused cooking ingredients and a bag of rice. after the red sox secured their victory, my parents and my godfather came over my place. i went out to get some groceries, came back, and made clam sauce linguine for dinner with flan for dessert. i can't really tell the difference between real vanilla beans and vanilla extract - beans leave crumbs of vanilla on the bottom of the flan i suppose. it's nice to make flan entirely from scratch though, completely natural ingredients. the only other way to make it even more natural is if i raised the chicken for the eggs and milked the cow.

after they left, it was the double header of the sopranos followed by a special 10pm alias. carmela gets some action and cousin tony says no to massage and yes to crime! and vaughn finds out that lauren had been a bad girl!
