today was surprisingly cold for some reason (nature, are you mad at me?), the kind of cold that made my eyes water when i walked outside. this of course left me in a very good mood, since i couldn't help but to appreciate the irony of the situation now that it's officially spring. usually i go running on mondays but since i ran yesterday, i figured i could take the day off. did i mention it was cold? not that it'd bother me. "aren't you cold in the front room?" katrinka asked me today. i guess all winter long i've been training myself to have a higher tolerance for the cold, and no matter how cold the office gets, it's still a lot warmer than the temperature i usually keep my house at. the work day went by pretty fast, before i knew it it was almost 3pm. tired, weak, i went out to get lunch. i went to 88 supermarket to get some groceries then stopped by the chinatown cafe to get some pan-fried noodles. talk about unhealthy, that's like a serving of atherosclerosis. when you're hungry though, starvation has a way of masking small details like that. i came home and wasn't very hungry. my father dropped by later in the evening after work to pick up some of the grocery items i got him, and gave me some leftovers for dinner.
