the big snowstorm never came. i woke up this morning and saw that there was only a dusting. even though it kept on snowing lightly throughout the day, it never got bad, and by the time i went home, most of it had already been trampled to powdery slush. the first half of the day i was doing seat-of-your-pants coding for a presentation at 1pm. after that was all done, i went to have pho with shannon in chinatown. i also visited aji ichiban for the very first time, that chain confectionary store. the candy in there are expensive but the selection is amazing. i'm sure i'll be visiting again soon, but in the meantime i got a small baggy of powdered dried prunes. when i came back to the office, half of the people were gone for the meeting. second half of the day i worked on the aquarium game, got my hands dirty with some lingo score recording. i think i'm lucky that i get to do game coding. it might not make the big bucks like ecommerce scripting or online database management, but it's really fun, creating behaviors for fish eggs (evolving into adult fish), copepods, and jellyfish.

adam and i played with his green laser pen, shining it at unsuspecting pedestrians down on the street below and the office people in the teradyne building across from us. adam told us how we could modify the laser so it could cut through black plastic like a light saber. after work, i went to south station to buy next month's subway pass. $44 now instead of $35 due to the mbta fare increase.

i couldn't wait to get home and watch the conclusion of traffic. julie and i were phoning each other during commercial breaks to talk about it. the series has the same adrenalin rush as 24 at its best. it presents a potential terrorist target that's so real it'll probably keep you up at nights once you see how it works. the ending left a lot of loose strings, which i guess is for the possibility of having traffic return as a regular weekly series if it does well. i hope it does, it's pretty amazing. for those of you who missed it, i urge you to watch it this weekend, 5pm on saturday, 12pm on sunday. it's going to be in a 6 hours block, so better yet, tape it.
