i went home after work, waited for everyone to arrive for another night of television watching featuring the conclusion of boy meets boy followed by another new episode of queer eye. i bumped into bruce on my way out of south station, he on his way into boston to help a friend move.
when i got back home, the butterfly was gone, which i'm assuming means it flew away, heading to the warmer climates of mexico. i noticed that my roommate had been in the house earlier in the day, additional items having been moved into his bedroom. if only he'd leave a note telling me where he was. i have his cellphone number, but i don't see why i have to make an effort to find out what his plans are regarding his timetable for moving in, when he should just tell me, out of courtesy if nothing else. anyway, i'll be at home for most of the day tomorrow, i'm sure i'll run into him since classes start the following day.
mandy alerted me via instant messaging that she wouldn't be able to make it tonight, still helping her sister prior to her sister's departure for 2 week european vacation. julie showed up at around 7:30pm, bringing with her the electric wok and bags of ingredients, tonight being her night to do the cooking.
tonight's recipe, some sort of thai basil chicken with rice. manny came by briefly to give me his old light fixture that i said i liked so much, as well as a linen lantern his sister maureen got me from the philippines, along with the latest 2004 copy of the ikea catalog (y'all be jealous now!). klea showed up around 8pm (our old friend from the screen house), back in town from new york city to do some minor repair work on her somerville house before renting it out again. she had dinner plans already, and could only stay for a little bit before heading back out. by that time the food was already done and we ate it at the dining table, counting down the time before 9pm, when boy meets boy would begin. klea left soon after that.
even though it was just the two of us, julie and i still made a lot of noise while watching the shows, particularly boy meets boy, where we didn't believe who the leading man ended up picking. queer eye was interesting, but it was a weak episode, a lot of improvements were casually looked over, like when he got a haircut, or when they tried to teach him how to dance. we had ice cream with hot fudge during that show. afterwards, we watched the daily show, both of us falling asleep in our respective couch/chair. julie left soon afterwards.
