once that was done, we returned the van and drove back to cambridge, where andrew cleaned up the rest of the stuff left in his bedroom, loading it up in his audi. with a handshake, we said our good byes and he left for malden. i'm not sure how many days andrew actually lived at my place, and there are friends who've never even met him before, but it wasn't a lot of days since most weeks he was up in vermont on business. the rent he paid helped make my mortgage payments a lot more manageable and perhaps even funded a lot of my summer fun, since it alleviated a chunk of financial pressure for me. let's hope my second roommate on monday will be just as easy. in the meantime, i have a week where the whole house is completely mine again. i'm trying to see if i can get a loft bed for the guest bedroom, create more space.
cat v.2 ate most of its leaf, hanging on by just the stem. it was time to change the leaf, which was how i killed my first caterpillar, so i was extra careful not to repeat myself. as soon as i made the switch, the caterpillar crawled off the leaf onto the jar lid, where it hasn't moved since. at least the top of the jar is better than the bottom of jar, where there's the danger of water to drown in.
my parents dropped by briefly after work, then left soon afterwards. for dinner i had some korean ramen and several cans of ginger ale. later tonight, several more hours of coding work awaits.
