you don't know how happy i am that i don't have to wake up tomorrow at 8am to go paint. true, some manual labor still awaits me (i'm "paving a stone path," which sounds like some zen mantra, but i'm really paving a stone path tomorrow), but that won't happen until noon. but that's tomorrow. this morning i still had to wake up at 8am to go paint. i used the right paint this time, silently edging and rolling for almost 4 hours until i was finished then i came back home to shower. there was white paint in my hair, gave me that distinguished older gentleman look which lasted until i washed my hair.

before i had my microwaved chicken pot pie hot pocket for lunch, i fixed a bug on my cape cod project, zipped it up, and ftp'ed it off. after lunch i crossed into somerville to the dollar store to buy some jiffy pots for my vegetable seeds. they didn't have any, so i opted for some plastic solo cups instead. i also got some lilac scented candles to add some fragrance to my house. out of curiousity, i went to the brazilian supermercado next door, and got a 12-pack of guarana.

back at home, a quick tour of the backyard revealed no snail sightings but the cold rain earlier added some dramatic flare to the flowers. notice the two different varieties of bleeding hearts!

i filled up 15 solo cups with dirt and planted my vegetable seeds. the hot peppers came in a sealed foil envelope, just a few flakes of seeds. the basil seeds were even smaller than sesame seeds. the cilantro seeds were the only normal sized seeds. i covered them all up with dirt and watered the cups. some cilantro seeds floated back up and i had to cover them with more dirt. hopefully in 2-3 weeks i'll have seem seedlings to show for all my efforts. in hindsight, maybe i should've just gone with seedlings instead of seeds, the price difference isn't that much, and i won't have to lose weeks worth of precious growing time waiting for my seeds to sprout. i'm still looking for some perennial flowers to start from seeds. maybe some chinese lantern flowers? i need some late season flowers.

i slept for a little bit but woke up at 6pm, too hungry to stay unconscious. i reheated the last of my crockpot soup, but after taking a few sips, i found it suspiciously sour, and dumped out the rest of it. instead, i made some tortellini with pasta sauce. i had to use two different tomato sauces in creating the pasta sauce, which kind of gave it a weird sour taste (what is this? the night of slightly sour foods?). i added a tablespoon of sugar but i couldn't balance out the flavor. nevertheless, a hot, hearty, nutritious meal, served with a glass of guarana on ice, with a nice lilac candle burning for some extra ambiance, while i ate in the living room.

rest of the evening i watched the life of mammals on the discovery channel, hosted by sir david attenborough. three hours worth of mammal facts tonight, followed by three more hours tomorrow night.
