a breakfast of cereal followed by a day's worth of php futzing lead me to the porter square star market by evening time where i was to meet shannon so she could show me how to make cupcakes. before i could dig out my cell phone to figure out where she was, i saw her in the baking goods aisle.
turned out we'd be making a black forest cake instead (the occasion, her boss' birthday tomorrow), so after gathering the necessary ingredients, she paid and we left to go back to her place, where the cake would be "assembled." two layers of alcohol soaked chocolate cake with a filling of cherries in the middle and covered in a glaze of chocolate sprinkled with cocoa powder, it was a multidimensional chocolate timebomb waiting to blow away whoever dared eat it. after the tutorial, i left with a spare copy of martha stewart living, the march 2003 gardening issue.

i got home and cooked up some buffalo wings for dinner while watching the celtics beat the knicks.
