today was perfect running weather and i had every notion to go running after my 3 hour morning meeting but wouldn't you know it? i didn't have my running clothes! i could just kick myself. it was so nice outside, 70 degrees, i was just salivating thinking about how nice it'd feel to run in this freakishly pleasant weather. i can still run during the winter season though, so all is not lost (just have to dress warm). as a matter of fact, i'm going to run tomorrow morning, nice and cold and early, just the thing i need to start the day.

instead of running i went with amanda and carrie to the mall. i will never go to the mall with any of these ladies ever again. it's not like i don't like going out shopping, but these girls aren't my girlfriends (they have boyfriends of their own) and it's kind of awkward going with them. while they're browsing these sexy outfits, i'm trying to keep myself distracted, making idle chitchat, while the whole time i'm thinking, "wow, she really looks good in that." i don't need that sort of action, i'm shopping alone from now on.

after work today i was suppose to go to laurie's birthday celebration in some bar in somerville. she called me back after i left a message on her cellphone, and she said she wouldn't be at the bar until 10pm or so. that's a little too late for me, especially in a strange place surrounded by strangers with strange (and loud) music playing. all is not lost though (the theme of the day seems to be salvation in the face of apparent defeat), as we made plans to contact each other tomorrow night to go out in the wee hours to go watch the leonid meteor shower.

tonight wasn't the only birthday celebration in store. katrinka had a surprise birthday party and i went to the squid office after work. we played pictionary and then had cake. boys versus girls, the boys won, but (as christine pointed out on several occasion) on the girl's team they had a team member who was legally blind, someone else who's first language wasn't english, and they were outnumbered (by only one though). the party wasn't anything big but it was pretty fun, i haven't visited squid in a long time. a lot of the people there were new, and i left not really remembering any of their names.
