a visit to the garden in the late morning, then a bike ride to belmont in the afternoon. i took the long way, cutting through fresh pond, just so i can hit as many pokestops as possible.

along fresh pond i managed to pick up a few water-related pokemons, including two goldeens (my first). i also fought a few times in some gyms, but lost on all occasions. i didn't arrive in belmont until an hour later.

it was a hot day, and i had to water the cucumbers twice to bring them back to life. the lawn suffers the most from the drought, as my father activated our ancient sprinklers in an attempt to bring it back to life. after some salted fish fried rice for dinner, i returned to cambridge.

for somebody who has a tragic history with knives, it's ironic i'd go out and get myself another blade. amazon delivery person called me earlier, asked if i was home. i told him to leave the package by the side of the house and i'd pick it up afterwards. the kershaw clash 1605 was a lot heavier and a lot bigger than i expected. popping the knife open switchblade style was a lot easier (just pull on the button) than closing the knife. i tried collapsing the blade but it wouldn't budge (i didn't force the issue, didn't want to accidentally close the knife on my fingers). so i looked over the manual and that's when i discovered the frame lock. push the frame lock off to the side, the knife closes up effortlessly.
