i've been looking at the airfares long enough; it was time to buy, especially since the current prices were so low, before they run out of cheap fares. after making a final confirmation with my parents, i went to go buy the tickets from the hainan airlines website. unfortunately it asked for my passport number and i didn't have it. i waited until i returned home and tried again. i used my parents' credit card (they can accrue mileage points; i paid them back with cash) but it didn't work, even after i tried it 3 times (probably a security issue, since the credit card is not under my name). when i finally tried my own credit card it went through without any problems.
