after i finished watching the inauguration of governor charlie baker around noontime, i went about refreshing my sichuan paocai jar. my father stopped by briefly to pick up the "hat for sale" sign i made for my mother; i also gave him a small jar of paocai. i scooped out all the fermented vegetables from the fermenting jar, packaging them up into smaller containers. after the new vegetable ingredients were dried later in the afternoon, i went about stuffing them into the jar. i had a large daikon radish that i only managed to use half. i got some long beans (expensive at $3.50/lbs) which i coiled into a loop and put it as the bottom-most layer. i also managed to cram an entire head of chinese cabbage. i didn't have any carrots, but it wouldn't have fit anyway even if i did.

in the late afternoon i relocated to the dining table in the kitchen. i don't know why i'm don't work here more often, since the lighting is better (at least in the early half of the day) and i have an actual table to sit at instead of scrunched onto a sofa chair like i normally do. but once it got dark i relocated back to the living room.

for dinner i had some market basket brand cheddar cheese shells. the flavor was a little off, better to stick with genuine annie products (in my defense, they were out the last time i went, so i went with the store brand just to check it out).
