xiaowu arrived to fix my maytag stacked washer dryer. i had my doubts about him until he told me he used to fix washers and dryers for a living. seeing a maytag for him was like revisiting an old friend. the thing i didn't know but xiaowu revealed to me right away was the washer can just simply be pulled out independently of the attached dryer above, allowing total access to the washer. had i known this little detail, i could've gained access to the lid switch and repaired the washer myself. after some suggestions from me (since i've already done a lot of research), xiaowu figured out that one of the switches in the lid assembly had gone bad; replace that and the washer should work again. he's going to a parts supplier on monday to see if they have this spare part, otherwise i an order it online.
