i went to the assembly square mall in the early afternoon to return that LED flood light at home depot and a dog collar from the christmas tree shoppe (purchased by my mother). climbing back onto my bike at the mall, i felt a little depressed. bike riding might be a great idea during the summer but it's joyless during the winter. the weather's cold, road salt corrodes bike parts, everything about it seems sad. at least during the summer i still had my motorcycle; during the winter, other than walking, the bicycle is my only other mode of transportation.

drew didn't get back until 7:00. this was his last night in cambridge, his flight to toronto leaves tomorrow around noontime. he fixed himself a sandwich for dinner and we finished watching the second half of enemy at the gates before he finally started packing up his things. beginning tomorrow i'm back to single living again.
