i was shocked to see my roommate late this morning. he came home to get his computer before leaving for work. i hadn't seen him since thursday night, and before that time he was gone in hawaii for 2 full weeks. i'd already gotten used to him not being here. by next wednesday he'll be returning to spain. he was in too much of a hurry to say anything, but with a big smile told me, "new york [this weekend] was amazing, i want to live there one day," before leaving. i don't think he felt the same way when i took him down on halloween. i remember asking him what was his impression of the big apple and he said it was a lot like barcelona. but after this weekend, he's finally realized that new york city is unlike any other city on earth.

i had a pretty well-rounded day. for breakfast i made some scrambled eggs with kielbasa sausages. i went outside and installed the new bike bell as well as the tail light rack bracket. i didn't realize how cold it was (below freezing in the 20's) and my fingers began to hurt while i was working. next i went to the bank to deposit a check from client E before stopping at market basket to get some groceries. in the afternoon i did a few hours of work until 6:00.

for dinner i ate some 3 week old chicken that'd been sitting in the fridge. i spent the rest of the night waiting for some sort of digestive reaction that never happened. looks like i won another round of food borne russian roulette!

i won another ebay auction, 2 pairs of XLC brake pads for v-brakes ($6 with free shipping). once again i was the only bidder. I'm kind of surprised; maybe people don't do a lot of bike repairs during the winter.
