the weather was fine for naturing, despite the threat of spotted thunderstorms, but i felt uninspired and decided to stay put. it's been a week since my last visit to the community garden, and in my only trip out of the house today, i went there to do some weeding.

every since they replaced the wooden bench next to my garden plot, i've been getting a lot of visitors who come just to sit down. they may like it now, but in another week or two, when its raining mulberries and the place stinks of rotten fruit, they'll think twice. not much to show in the garden; at least no more new plants have died. i'd forgotten i'd planted some cardinal climbers in the garden; i might've inadvertently uprooted them the last time i was there, thinking they were weeds. of the weeds that were there, a lot of grab grass for some reason, which are hard to pull out by hand, and i may need to do some digging next time. there are also a lot of what appears to be parsley. i rubbed a leaf sample but didn't notice any particularly parsley-like smell though. i'll keep them for now, maybe the flavor will develop as they mature.

elsewhere in the community garden:

began taking my new dosage of high blood pressure medication (angiotensin II receptor antagonist in the house!). sometime in the afternoon i took a reading, my numbers were 117/75, surprisingly low since i was snacking on some salty pretzels. later in the evening after finishing 2 more blue cheese burgers (washed down with some goya ginger beer) i took another reading, but this time the numbers were high, 130/85 range.
