they weren't kidding when they said it'd be cold today! i went outside briefly and was shocked to feel how chilly it was, no more than 30 degrees. i guess the past few days of mild to warm weather has spoiled me. temperature perception is all relative anyway; there was probably times during the dead of winter when 30 degrees would've felt balmy. i was outside picking up a delivery from my father, some fresh chinese dumplings and my bags of potting soil and manure.

so far i've logged 72 hours playing okami. it's really like 3-4 games in in. this is going to sound like nonsense for those who haven't played it before, but i'm about to cross the rainbow bridge into the ship yamato. there's no turning back, so before i do, i wanted to go back and finish all the side quests. for instance, finishing the 3 devil gate trials. but what i really want is to find all 100 stray beads so i can become invincible. i only need 4 more, but these are the hardest ones, like defeat blockhead grande or beat kai in the race through yoshpet. i want to finish this game so i can finally be free from its addiction!

did anyone watch the wire when it was still on HBO? i've always heard good things about it so i finally got my hands on season 1. after watching the first 2 episodes, it's definitely different from any crime drama i've ever seen. the dialogue is hard to follow at first because of all the lingo, whether it's police talk or drug speak. but it's nice to watch a show where you have to work at it in order to understand, where nothing is spoon-fed. then there's the ambiguity of the characters. there aren't good guys or bad guys, people just are. i'm not hooked yet but i'll keep on watching, it's promising.
