i'm figuring a lot of people in boston skipped work today and had themselves a snow day. it pretty much snowed the entire night, with some places getting more than a foot of powder. it was easier to cash in a personal day than try to dig yourself out and then navigate the slipper roads. by the time i woke up, my upstairs neighbor had already finished shoveling the sidewalk, leaving me no reason to go outside. however, my father was taking a trip to chinatown in the afternoon so i tagged along. another new china supermarket just opened up, the third one yet, taking over the old 88 supermarket. they completely renovated the interior, widened the aisles, and increased the size of the produce department so it now takes up about half the entire space. the selection was pretty amazing, one of the more well-stocked asian supermarkets in the area.

our shopping was cut short when my father felt the onset of some possibly explosive diarrhea (must've been something he ate). we raced back to belmont so he could rest a little bit, before driving to the cafe and then dropping me off in cambridge.
