the replacement laptop battery i ordered yesterday arrived this afternoon. i figured it'd be an OEM brand product so i was surprised to see it was a genuine apple battery ($129 from the apple store, just $84 through my 3rd party vendor). i didn't put it in just yet because it was still icy cold from being outside. when i finally did swap it out with the old one, i noticed there was a dent in the casing. i thought about returning it, but the hassle and the cost of shipping it back made it not worthwhile. it's a cosmetic defect anyway, it's something i can live with. the battery arrived half-charged, it took less than 2 hours to fully charge the entire thing.

with another all-day snowstorm arriving tomorrow, i'm not the least bit concerned because my house is well stocked with food. i had some left goat noodle soup from last night for lunch with some madeleine cookies/cakes for dessert. for dinner i heated up some mini raviolis and ate half a box of strawberries.

i did some minor work for client B. we'd pretty much solved the crashing problem by replacing the videos with flash movies, but now these movies are chugging a bit. if it's not one thing, it's another. i don't think i'm ever going to receive my final installment paycheck from them with this project still being held hostage by these neverending bugs. today i also remembered to write out a few checks to pay my quarterly taxes. i'm late by a week, but if there's one thing i know about the government, they're always happy to take money, regardless if it's a little bit late.
