i left for my parents' place as soon as i woke up today around noontime. there was nothing i couldn't do there that i wouldn't be doing at home on a normal sunday anyway (surf the web, watch some football). it also gave me a break from my roommate, and even though he was in his room with the door closed, just knowing he was at home was enough reason for me to leave. when i arrived in belmont, the only person who was home was my sister, who left shortly afterwards but came back later. i let hailey out in the backyard and chased her around the backyard to give her some exercise. i had to trick her to come back inside, making sure to wipe the mud off of her paws. she fell asleep on the couch before my sister came back, and it wasn't until mid-afternoon, with hailey's incessant barking, did my sister realize she forgot to feed the dog. i myself didn't have breakfast or lunch either, but instead ate some leftover pretzels i found in the house. when my parents came home in the evening we had vietnamese beef tendon broth with noodles and some grilled steaks. i helped my mother order some more photo prints online before returning to cambridge with the temperature just at 40 degrees (relatively warm compared to the subzero night riding conditions i've experienced the past few weeks).

i've made it to olympus heights in bioshock, the 10th level of the game (there's a total of 13). at the rate i'm going, i can probably finish it up tomorrow, freeing me once and for all from this addiction.
