hailey eats every 6 hours, except at nights when she's asleep. her first feeding is 6am every morning. she seems to have some sort of internal clock and was already up before my alarm went off. i let her out to go use the bathoom, and she quickly came back inside after doing her business. i mixed some solid and wet food in her metal dog dish and gave it to her. after she finished feeding, we went back to bed. i woke up hours later at 10am, letting her out into the backyard once more.

the weather was 10 degrees warmer than yesterday (although still in the 40's) so i let hailey stay outside. she seemed to prefer it anyway, barking if kept inside for any period of time. having her out gave me the chance to take a shower. the water pressure at my parents' place is much stronger than at my place: putting my face underneath the shower head feels like being waterboarded.

after feeding hailey once again around lunchtime, i cooked up some chinese dumplings for myself. after playing for an hour, hailey came back inside and immediately fell asleep on her dog bed in the living room. this gave me a few hours to do some work, even though none of my clients got in touch with me (everyone's preparing for thanksgiving i'd imagine).

my sister came home in the evening. she said she wanted to take hailey out to the dog park even though it was already dark and i told her hailey had been in the backyard most of the day. i think my sister has some sort of ulterior motive but i didn't want to argue with her. even though my parents live right next to a big playground, my sister always takes hailey to some dog park several miles away in cambridge. before i left i felt compelled to wash the dishes, take out the trash, and vacuum the house. under 6 layers of insulation, i rode back home.
