when i wasn't working on my project for client P (mostly graphic stuff today, coding the next few days), i went with my father to the supermarket. the brazilian grocery bagger was admiring the fortaleza t-shirt i got from dan.

i spent some time fixing my portable media player (PMP), the vosonic 6210. it was the thing i used to store my photos when i went traveling. my father used it recently but wasn't able to get it to read a 4gb SDHC memory card, so i updated the firmware. that didn't fix the SDHC issue and it also broken the USB connection so the internal hard drive wouldn't mount a computer anymore. after taking the thing apart, i tried importing some photos from a 4gb compact flash memory card, which worked. it also fixed the SDHC issue, and i managed to get the device to mount on my computer again. i was kind of hoping it was broken so i could have an excuse to upgrade, but i ended up saving myself $300-400.

paid a visit to my garden, collected some cosmo seeds for next season and picked off all the peppers. all the red tomatoes had fallen to the ground becoming slug food. the green ones still on the vine were weather-battered and bug-chewed, not sure if they'll ever ripen. i read somewhere that once the temperature dips below 60 degrees, tomatoes stop growing. i still haven't harvested a single tomatillo yet (not sure if they behave similarly to the tomatoes), hoping there's still a few more growing weeks left this late in the season.

i made barbecue chicken pizza for dinner, which i shared with my roommate. he recorded what i was doing with a video camera. i wanted to ask him when he was thinking about paying the rent (he'd been living here for 2 weeks now) but didn't know how to breech the subject. he should've asked about it when he first arrived, i hope he doesn't think he can just live here for free!
