i'm so tired from cramming two days worth of coding in a single day all this week. my eyelids are half-closed from exhaustion, i'm pretty much done for the night. i'll play some resident evil to unwind, then it's off to bed, wake up tomorrow morning, start my double shift all over again. it doesn't help that the temperature shot up into the 80's today, like autumn decided it'd be summer for a day. all this work and not a penny to show for it. i was supposed to invoice the client in third installments, but never got around to doing that. i'm sure i'll get paid eventually but it'd be nice to have some cash incentive on hand.

found some tomatillo husks today. maybe they're late season fruit bearers. i found one about the size of a golfball and gave it a gentle squeeze. it felt pretty empty inside, so it's probably a dud. nevertheless, tomatillos are such prodigious producers that i'm confident i get at least a few tomatillo fruits before the season is over.

my mother made some extra xuelihong (preserved mustard green) and had my father drop it off for me for lunch on his way to the supermarket.

for dinner, i made this oven-baked macaroni and cheese recipe involving panko crumbs, bacon, and some blue cheese. tasted pretty good, but i never did get the crust to brown. later i watched mccain's speech while working on the code. he's not the best speaker and after it was over, i couldn't really remember anything he said other than the part where he talked about his experience in the POW camp.
