riding to belmont this morning i couldn't help notice the interesting clouds overhead. sheets of cirrus clouds, the highest clouds you can see (5+ miles away), composed of ice crystals. these were the same clouds i saw last thursday, which explains the mysterious rainbows.

i kept on wanting to pull over by the side of the road and take a few snapshots but i wasn't able to do that until i got to belmont, where the vast expanse of the grove street playground afforded me an unobstructed view of the sky.

today we painted the hallways in strawberry yogurt, which is a glorified darker shade of pink. not a color i would've picked myself but good enough. afterwards i did a quick second coat, and likewise a thin second coat of lavender ice in my parents' bedroom. with that we were finished, but we still kept the floors covered in case we wanted to do anymore touch-ups tomorrow before we move back all the furniture and recapped any exposed outlets and wires.

afterwards i went to the cafe to get some lunch.

i haven't watered the garden since saturday. it's probably not that important, despite our recent drought. with my hay mulch, the soil stays pretty moist even after a prolong period without watering. i basically go to collect some basil, eat some golden raspberries, check up on my tomatillos, and harvest some red tomatoes. today i pulled off 3 more, including a large one about the size of a grapefruit.

i defrosted a piece of salmon when i returned home and had that for dinner.
