it's not beyond my realm of reasons to just ride down to chinatown to get some takeout for lunch. i brought my camera just in case for any possible photo opps. i went to the chinatown cafe (262 harrison avenue) for an old favorite: the spicy salt & pepper fried porkchop rice. when i worked at squid i'd get this for lunch at least once a month. i've been dreaming about it for the longest time, and finally got a chance to have it again.

i got home just in time to catch the 2nd red sox yankees game this weekend. the red sox won yesterday but unfortunately lost this afternoon. after i finished eating i was watching the game in my bedroom but soon fell asleep. i didn't wake up until almost 9pm. i made some homemade chicken broth (about an hour simmering on the stove with some rice wine, white pepper, and ginger) and cooked up some rice noodles for dinner.
