i finally went down to the basement today to turn off the furnace. having it on for 7 months is long enough. it's a three stop process involving turning off the pilot light, shutting down the electricity, and clamping the gas valve closed. the warmth i collected over the weekend is still lingering long enough to keep my place at a reasonable temperature.

today i wallowed in the sinkhole of work. i don't know if i'm on schedule or behind schedule, but i keep getting the feeling that the client is eagerly waiting for me to finish, but this could all be pure speculation. i think i have a deadline tomorrow, but then i saw on some document that maybe it's next friday. i may be stressing over nothing, but the sooner i get everything done, the sooner i'll be free to enjoy my free time.

normally i get somewhere between 7-12 junk mail an hour, regardless if it's day or night. today around 4:30pm however, suddenly i was getting 50+ junk e-mails a minute. i noticed something weird when i saw it was taking a long time to check my e-mails, and when i pulled up the status window i saw there was over 250+ e-mails waiting to be downloaded. i quickly logged into my web server and turned on their junk mail filter. from that point on, it became totally quiet. only later in the evening did i realize my mistake: somehow i managed to erase my e-mail account in the progress, hence the e-mail silence.

soon i'll be returning to my bedroom for the late night shift of my work day.
