henderson dawn

i slept only for an hour and a half last night and was a miracle i woke up on time this morning at 5:30am despite the fact that i accidently turned off my alarm clock. the past few days i've slept a few hours here and there but i really need a good night's sleep which i'm hoping will happen tonight. client B dragged me down to the work site to begin another series of debugging before 7am. after 10 different builds, suffice to say that i finally managed to fix the interactive (through my sheer awesomeness, no lie).

returning from las vegas, airport security wouldn't allow me into the gate because my boarding pass name didn't match my passport. after some back and forth i was declared a "person without identification" and given the full security treatment: explosive resistant containment, air-sniffing chamber, metal detector, and bomb residue swab test.

i happened to arriving at logan airport the same day my father was returning from taiwan, just an hour later. since my mother and sister were going to go pick him up (11pm), they figured they could wait a little bit and get me as well - that is, in a perfect world where planes don't get delayed due to mechanical error and bad weather. they ended up waiting almost 2 hours and i didn't get back home until 1am. it's been a long couple of days (starting from last weekend where i had to burn the midnight oil to finish a deadline) but i'm glad to be home again. after a good night's sleep, i'll be as good as good can be, although a part of me still wish i was in vegas!
