i woke up early this morning (8:30) after hearing my upstairs neighbor in the basement. i was afraid maybe the water pipes had burst during the night but turns out it was just winterborne paranoia. on this rare occasion i caught an tao still getting ready for work. with so much time on my hands i started another loaf of cottage cheese with chives bread. this time i brushed some egg on the top of the bread before it started baking for a nice shiny glazed finish.

in the early evening i went with my parents to chinatown to get some groceries. today was the coldest day its been within the past 2 years. it was so cold that walking around outside for just a few seconds gave me an ice cream headache.

we went to ming's super market where you can still buy a package of duck tongue for around $11.
