i may never want to eat again after tonight. absolutely stuffed and wanting nothing more than to go to sleep, the sight of leftovers still sitting on the dining table repulsed me. next time chinese hot pot, i'm through with turkey and big banquet style dinners that involve over a dozen different dishes. my family (including my 2nd aunt, my great uncle, and suhan) had christmas dinner at my aunt lili and uncle matthew's place in arlington. even though we agreed this year we wouldn't be exchanging any presents, i broke the rule and got them a solar-powered rainbow maker. after my second turkey roll-up i was already done, but i made room for 2 more. i had a hard time removing my rainbow jello from the dish and there was no way i was going to eat another flan. my father was the first to leave with my great uncle and suhan, while the rest of us stayed and helped clean up before going as well.

once more, tentative plans to go naturing were dashed when i overslept again this morning. it's kind of difficult when i don't have a car and it'd have been too much of a hassle for me to borrow my parents'. i'm glad i went away so often during the summer when i could still ride the motorcycle, because nowadays i feel pretty trapped at home. i'm counting the days until i can ride again, but i first have to get that flat tire fixed. the rest of the day i spent watching the the christmas story on tbs. everytime i watch it i discover something new. like today, i never realized it before, but there's a christmas parade scene where mickey mouse is attacked by a swarm of flying monkeys. that's always left me wondering, why there were all these wizard of oz characters in the movie. a little research revealed that the movie supposedly takes place in december 1940 hammond, indiana. the wizard of oz had just come out in theatres the year before, so it'd make sense to see the wicked witch of the west wandering the department store.
