the last day of september and i had rebate forms to fill out in order to get some money back for the hard drive i bought a few weeks ago. i think manufacturers purposely make rebates difficult to complete in the hopes that people won't bother making the claims. i went out to make some copies of the receipt then sent everything away. whether i'm going to get my $60 back i'm not sure.

soon after i heated up a french bread pizza for lunch, one of my clients phoned me and i was on the phone for about an hour in a conference call. after it was over i stared at my cold pizza sitting on top of my monitor. most of this week i've been on the phone or emailing different clients. i wish i could make a living just doing that; i sound so smart sometimes, but when it comes to actually doing the work, i procrastinate. which is exactly what happened this week. a whole lot of talk, but very little action.

in the late afternoon i went out on another errand run. i got an october subway pass for jawei from harvard square, then decided to bike to the galleria mall to check out the new ipod nano. when i came back i wanted to go out running but that's when my mother and suhan arrived at my place for dinner. jawei came home later, after visiting revere beach after his english class. suhan invited his girlfriend over for dinner without asking if it was okay first. i started to get that really annoyed feeling when too many unwanted people suddenly show up at my house, when all i really wanted to do tonight was to spend a quiet evening watching the red sox yankees game on television. after my father arrived we all had dinner. by 7:30 everyone had left except for jawei and myself.

the game started out rocky, the yankees getting a run in the first inning. it could've been much worse, david wells actually loaded the base at one point, but we managed to escape that inning with minimal damage. the run was nullified when david ortiz knocked in johnny damon soon afterwards. varitek scored a single homer and we were up 2-1. then it got really tedious and boring, no runs scored on either side for many innings, until the 6th, when the red sox tacked on 3 more runs, to put us up 5-1. that good feeling didn't last long because jeter homers to bring the score to 5-3, but that turned out to be the final score as both teams dried up on the offense department again. it feels good to get this win, we just need to do tomorrow, and then again on sunday.
