if you could live every day as if it's your last, would that be a good thing? because how would any work ever get done? because i'm pretty sure i'd live my last day of life in some hedonistic blur, wall-to-wall pleasure, satiating my every senses, engorging myself with my last morsel of sweet life. i couldn't possibly do that everyday though, as much as i'd love to. my personal mantra is to live life every day so that at least somebody somewhere will see what i'm doing and wish they were doing that. unfortunately, i don't think today can be categorized as such a day. sure, i didn't just stay at home all day, but i didn't exactly bring it either. for that, dear readers, i apologize, and hope to do better within the coming week.

i had the dim sum buffet at yangtze river this morning in lexington. i threw off as much clothes into the car because i didn't want to leave smelling all oily. jack was working and he gave us (my mother, sister, suhan, and jawei) all the good stuff fresh from the kitchen before it even made it onto the dim sum carts or the buffet bar. it's a pretty good deal at $10/person but the best dim sum in town is still china pearl in chinatown, although you get a lot more variety at yangtze river. i ate until you could squeeze me like a tube of toothpaste to get some dim sum chum.

after delivering the newspaper to the cafe, we went to the everett strip mall. while everyone else was shopping at costco, i was in home depot trying to find the right screw for the faux leather padding for the motorcycle backrest. later we all converged at bed & bath, where i got a metal over-the-door clothes rack and an umbra over-the-door stretch towel rack. jawei and i got a ride back to cambridge, where we installed the towel rack without any problems (thank god there was enough clearance around the door). the baseball game was almost over by the time we got back, but i was happy to see the red sox had successfully swept the orioles this weekend (the yankees, however, keep on managing to win as well).

in the evening my father came to pick us up to have dinner in belmont. after we ate, i went down into the basement to fish out all my winter clothes now that the season has changed. since i was returning home via motorcycle and couldn't carry all that stuff, my father said he'd bring it over tomorrow. however, i put on as much as i could wear (about 6 layers of jackets) before riding back to cambridge with jawei in tow. the patriots had also won as well (so a good day overall for new england sports fans).
