when i was secretly wishing for the weather to be colder, i wasn't expecting it to be this cold. yesterday the temperature was almost in the 90's. today it dropped down to 50's. it was so cold i actually went through the house and closed all the windows, and for a split second considered going downstairs and restarting the furnace. but this is what makes new england so great, unpredictable weather, and gives us something to talk about when there's nothing else to talk about. it even rained for a little while, cold hard rain that made me reconsider going outside for my first run since my return. maybe tomorrow.

i woke up this morning at 7am and went down to the south station bus terminal to intercept hsu wen, coming into boston from providence, on her way to logan airport to go back to costa rica for the summer. my parents had some dried fruits for her parents and wanted me to deliver them to her. it was right during rush hour so i watched all sorts of people commuting to work. i hope to be just like them someday soon. in the meantime, enjoy the remaining days of my unemployment. after the exchange, hsu wen got on the newly-operating silver line for the airport while i came back to cambridge.

the cable along with my internet went down during the afternoon, which was my cue to take a nap. in the evening, julie dropped by for some wings and baseball followed by an old episode of SVU, a complicated story about child molesters. she had problems staying awake, and by evening's end she walked home while i brought out the trash.
